TESYA is an artisan association based in Sigsig, Ecuador, founded in 2008 by women weavers committed to protecting their craft and ensuring fair working conditions for future generations.
Located in the historical heartland of toquilla straw weaving, TESYA brings together more than 80 skilled artisans specialized in the hand-weaving of Panama hats and hat bodies, and allows artisans to sell their work directly to international buyers, eliminating exploitative intermediaries that historically undervalued artisan labor.
